“Aww honey, you...

Chocolate Chip Cookies

“Aww honey, you baked!”

Felicia made Chocolate chip cookies tonight, partly to satiate my after-dinner-open-every-door-in-the-kitchen-looking-for-more-food routine, and, well, because she wanted to eat cookies.

Every time she makes something really good or unique, which is very often, I pester her to share it somehow. Maybe me doing it will convince her it’s a good idea?

This chocolate chip cookie recipe is from “How to Cook Everything” by Mark Bittman, as is the last picture above. She basically stuck to the recipe, except for a few details:

We ran out of chocolate chips, so I chopped up some Dove dark chocolates her mother gave us, turning them into chocolate chip/chunk cookies.

She used raw sugar, which makes a huge difference in taste. Much like the difference between Mexican Coca Cola and the stuff they sell in the U.S.

The vanilla extract was made by my mother by soaking vanilla beans in vodka. She jarred it and gave it to us around the holidays. Being that it was in a jar, and I was the one who opened it, I swear the fumes intoxicated me. Maybe that’s why I though starting a cooking blog for Felicia was a good idea? Only time will tell.

Enjoy!
